The SEF Smart Electronic Factory e.V. and the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Darmstadt are cooperating strategically to raise awareness among SMEs of the opportunities offered by digitalization and to promote new business models in this context. The overall aim is to strengthen the competitiveness of companies in Hessen and beyond.

The Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Darmstadt is a BMWK-funded consortium of institutes from the Technical University of Darmstadt (PTW, DiK, IAD, PtU), the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (IGD, LBF) and the IHK Darmstadt Rhein Main Neckar. It is part of the SME Digital funding priority. It offers free training courses, demonstrations, specialist presentations and information talks focusing on key topics such as product and service development, digital working, IT security, networked production, climate-neutral production and artificial intelligence.

The two learning factories CiP (Center for Industrial Productivity) and ETA (Energy Efficiency, Technology and Application Center) are at the heart of knowledge transfer at the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Darmstadt. Participants in the events can experience the possible applications of digital technologies there and recognize their effect on the processes of real value chains.

In the SEF Smart Electronic Factory e.V., companies, schools, universities and research institutions work together to develop new technologies that can be used to solve digitalization challenges in industry. The SEF Smart Electronic Factory e.V. has an Industry 4.0 research and development environment, which is located in the Limtronik electronics factory in Limburg a. d. Lahn, among other places.

Through this cooperation, the two organizations are joining forces to strengthen both companies based in Hessen and companies beyond the region for the digital future. The implementation includes joint speeches and awareness-raising events for SMEs.

On April 18, 2024, the Darmstadt center invites you to a roadshow “Artificial Intelligence in Medium-Sized Industry” in Koblenz, which is supported by SEF Smart Electronic Factory e.V.. Participation is free of charge. Further information here.
