This is an interesting idea that Eplan has implemented for its customers. It is certainly a helpful approach, especially for medium-sized customers. With Eplan Marketplace, Eplan presents an international platform that links users of the CAE software and providers of services – for example in engineering, control cabinet construction and consulting.
The new Eplan Marketplace is online on the solution provider’s website. According to Marco Litto, Senior Vice President Strategy & Corporate Program, the objective is to remove hurdles in project business, data preparation and integration that companies cannot overcome on their own.
When the question arises as to which provider is suitable in the field of CAE software, specifically in the environment of Eplan, an arduous search begins, for example, in far-flung countries with less coverage of Eplan know-how. Up to now, Eplan’s sales department has helped. This search process is now simplified with the Market-place. (Image Eplan)
Eplan Marketplace has three sectors. The “Engineering” sector includes services such as the creation of circuit diagrams, hardware design and the creation of parts data. The “Module Manufacturing” sector addresses services in control cabinet construction, cable assembly and cable harness production. The “General Consulting” section includes providers who advise joint customers in the areas of ERP, PLM or software development (PLC, visualization, etc.). By searching for the software used, type of service or country-specific region, interested parties can filter which provider is suitable for which task. Contact can be established directly via the platform.
Providers can register free of charge on a website. The requirements for participation in the Eplan Marketplace are a proven qualification – for example, the training of an employee as an Eplan Certified Engineer and an assessment by at least one reference customer. Eplan managers validate the provider and qualification, and after successful verification, the company is listed in the Marketplace. Listing and use are free of charge. A user can submit an inquiry to the provider via a contact form – services are agreed and charged for independently outside the Marketplace. In the platform an evaluation can be deposited, which can give other interested ones assistance with the choice of their future offerer.
At the start, 60 small and medium-sized companies are already listed. Eplan intends to expand the offering. Companies with the relevant expertise in the engineering environment are actively encouraged to register in the Marketplace internationally.
