Managing Director Dieter Meuser took over one hundred percent of German Edge Cloud (GEC) from the Friehelm Loh Group (FLG) in a management buy-out on November 1. Together with his team, he will continue the business activities of the former FLG business unit “Digital Industrial Solutions” in full.
The new and former Managing Director Dieter Meuser (photo: German Edge Cloud) had already founded the MES provider iTAC Software AG and the IIoT provider IoTOS GmbH before founding German Edge Cloud. With GEC’s product, ONCITE Digital Production System (DPS), his company has achieved numerous successes in recent years, including at Rittal worldwide, at Porsche/Schuler in their Smart Press Shop and the first certification by Catena X.
The system is an open, Linux- and microservice-based platform that ensures networking and transparency on the shop floor, not only in production, but also offers alraedy a range of other applications for energy monitoring, data center operation, track & trace and more.
The platform is represented in the Smart Automation market overview and has an exclusive subpage there. I wish German Edge Cloud, Dieter Meuser and his team that they will quickly reach more customers with their platform. The demand for real-time Linux systems is enormous and will continue to grow in the near future. ONCITE DPS has already shown what can be achieved productively with it.
