Eplan presents a new cloud service for cross-project collaboration. With Eplan eManage, projects from the Eplan platform can be uploaded to the cloud environment, shared and managed there. In the first step, the free version was launched in mid-March – an extended, paid version will follow in August 2021.

Cross-project collaboration
Through the systems of the Eplan platform in conjunction with the new cloud service, control and switchgear engineers, OEM’s and system integrators as well as operators of machines and plants can be connected. They all then work in a centrally managed project that can be synchronized with the Eplan platform. Clear access rights via role distribution ensure data security and provide flexibility for accessing projects. Users of Eplan Electric P8 and Eplan Pro Panel can already upload their projects to the cloud and transfer them back to the Eplan platform for further processing.
Project data can be published in Eplan eView. In this way, entire projects can be viewed and commented on by authorized persons, which also digitally supports cross-company review processes.
With Eplan eManage, the Eplan project is synchronized with all process participants. Changes in the project are visible to all participants. The project documentation is always up to date – throughout the entire product lifecycle and into operation and service.
Presumably, the new solution will be part of both the Eplan Virtual Fair (April 18 and 29) and the joint appearance of Rittal, Eplan and German Edge Cloud – all three are sister companies in the Friedhelm Loh Group – at the Hannover Fair Digital Edition 2021 (April 12 to 16). There, at any rate, the three companies intend to focus on cloud use by industry, in 20 live streamings and presentations.
